We’ve received the first order for our new We keep it Simple pallet range, especially meaningful because the customer is KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
Launched at the end of last year, the We keep it Simple pallet range reflects our design philosophy: robust, compliant ULD solutions engineered to perform reliably in daily air cargo operations and without unnecessary complexity.
For all of us at VRR, this first order is more than a commercial step forward. It marks the next chapter in a relationship that stretches back more than half a century.
A Trusted Partner from the beginning
In the late 1960s, VRR was still manufacturing aluminium boxes when regulatory changes began to reshape air cargo operations. VRR explored the possibility of supplying these solutions to KLM, but at that time did not yet meet the required certification standards. With KLM’s involvement and support, VRR was able to achieve the necessary certifications in the years that followed. This led to VRR’s transition into ULD manufacturing and, in the 1980s, the start of a customer relationship that has continued to develop ever since.
Over the decades, KLM has played an active role in supporting VRR product development, from the first ULD to specialist solutions such as horse stalls, and now — in 2026 — to pallets designed with the same practical mindset that has defined the partnership from the start.
“KLM has been a trusted partner to us from the very beginning,” says our managing director, Geert van Riemsdijk. “From the moment we first moved into ULDs, they’ve supported our development and trusted us to turn ideas into reliable, operational solutions. Receiving this first pallet order from KLM makes this launch particularly meaningful for our entire team.”
From KLM’s perspective, the relationship has been defined by continuity and confidence built over time.
“We’ve worked with VRR for decades and have seen their solutions evolve alongside our own operations,” says Erick Reinders, Senior Buyer, KLM. “Their understanding of our needs, combined with a clear and pragmatic design approach, makes them a partner we can rely on, including new pallet solutions.”
An active collaboration
This first pallet order reflects not only the introduction of a new product range, but also the strength of a collaboration shaped over generations, one that continues to move forward, grounded in experience and mutual trust.
Sometimes the most effective solution is also the simplest. In the video, we share how the We keep it Simple pallet range came about.
