Qatar Airways have taken delivery of HMX horse stalls.
Please allow us to introduce the worlds first dedicated B777F horse stall.
Apart from the new contour for the B777F aircraft, there are various other new features.
For the very first time, we have introduced dedicated forklift openings in a horse stall. This feature allows for safe and efficient handling per forklift truck in warehouses and during on- and offloading in trucks.
To ease positioning throughout the network, this droptop HMX horse stall can - as the name suggests - lower its roof. When doing so, the main deck horse stall suddenly transforms into a lower deck container.
New lightweight composite wall segments aid in reducing tare weight. This horse stall weighs in at a modest 1060 kg despite the relatively heavy forkliftable base and heavier roof structure. All and all a very well performing horse stall, and a design which should in our humble opinion not be neglected by the growing B777F operators involved in horse shipping.
The HMX horse stall has been profiled to allow travel on both left as right row positions in the aircraft, with horses facing forward at either side. This implies that the roof structure is profiled on both sides, thus eliminating the need to work with dedicated left and right-hand versions.
